The easiest Sloppy Joes, Ever

Sorry, I've been bad about posting! My hubby has been working out of town a lot, and cooking a big dinner for just myself and my 9 month old is very challenging! Here is an easy dinner that we've had on a weekend, sloppy Joe's from hubby's childhood recipe:

One 1/2 package veggie grounds (Smart Grounds)
1/2 diced onion
1/3 c. ketsups
1 Tbs brown sugar
2 Tbs olive oil
4 pieces of bread or 2 buns

Saute onions in olive oil, add smart grounds when they are cooked. Add ketsup and brown sugar, coat grounds well. Serve on bread of choice. Easy!

Thanks for the recipe. I have been hoping to make a vegan sloppy joe. Racheal Ray does a sloppy dude with tomatillos and I want to make a vegan version. Do you recommend that Smart Ground as a meat replacement?

I love sloppy joes, vegan of course. Have you ever tried making them with lentils? They are so good. Not nearly as quick, but not they reall don't take too long. Here is a link from Isa. We love these. http://www.theppk.com/recipes/dbrecipes/index.php?RecipeID=2059

You had me at "easiest sloppy joes". I'm all for (perhaps *only* for) easy recipes. Thanks so much - I've bookmarked this one!

Hey I love your blog and your recipes, but (and I'm sure you know this,) regular bread is NOT vegan - and yet I see bread in so many of your recipes. Why is that?
